Every day Teachers impact our children’s lives.  And its not only the Teachers, but even their Assistants impact lives.  And in exchange, the students have an equal impact on the teacher’s lives.  My mom has been a Teachers Assistant for well over 15 years… And she has watched some of her students go from being in elementary school to graduating.  And like a true mother, she is proud of each and every one of them for each of their milestones.   With us living in the same city as the school district, many of the students see her outside of class.  And its great seeing their eyes light up when they run into her at a store.   That’s how you know you truly impacted someones life.

Many people take for granted all the things that teachers actually do for the children.  Parents just assume that the School District – or the government – pay for all the supplies for the year… But that’s just not always true.  Every year Teachers spend money out of their own pockets just to provide the necessary tools to teach our children. My mom even takes in books or movies from her own collection to help provide additional learning tools for some of her students.  These teachers selfishly do this – because they are that passionate about their jobs – and helping the students.   Just take a look at the Teachers Change Lives Video below of how these teachers have impacted their students lives.

There are many things that us parents can do to show our appreciation for all that teachers do for our children.  We can take a moment to donate to a teacher in our local community.   Office Depot and Adopt-A-Classroom have partnered to raise awareness about teachers, and all that they do in the lives of their students.  What is Adopt-A-Classroom?  Adopt-A-Classroom is a Nonprofit organization that helps connect donors with teachers – in return enhancing the learning environment for our students.

If you would like to register your classroom you just need to visit the Teacher Change Lives Website.  Then click on the red box that says “Register Your Classroom” (This will take you to the Adopt-A-Classroom website).  Just follow the steps from there – and your classroom is registered.

If you are wanting to donate to a classroom/Teacher  you just need to go to the Teacher Change Lives website.  There you will click on the teal “Donate to a Teacher” Box (This will take you to the Adopt-A-Classroom website).  Just follow the steps from there.

My youngest son’s teacher was such an amazing person to him. Actually, pretty much all of the teachers my kids had have been amazing. I’m so thankful for the impact they’ve had on their lives.

My kids have had several really wonderful teachers over the years. I had a few too. My stepmom is a sub in the district where I grew up. Teachers spend as many, or more waking hours than we do with our children every day. They make as much of a difference as we do. We need to let them know we support them.

While in school I never truly realized the extent that teachers go to for their students. Dont get me wrong, I had some awesome teachers through all 13 years at CHS, but it wasnt until my cousin (a third grade teacher) and I had a conversation as adults about it that I really appreciated it all. Now with a kindergartner and preschooler I am even more appreciative of the work and commitment that these teachers have towards their students.

My kids’ teachers have always been great – especially my son’s whole staff. He has an IEP and has had such awesome help along his journey with ADHD. If it wasn’t for what those teachers have done for him, I don’t know how I would have been able to do it alone. On another note… I’ve seen how much money these teachers have spent out of pocket on things for the classroom. Last year I was able to donate money to my preschool daughters classroom for art supplies. I will have to head over to the Teacher Change Lives website and see what I can do this year. Thanks for sharing this info!

My SIL used to be a teacher before she had her kids, and we have many church friends who are teachers. I hear so often how much of their own money they spend on their classrooms and students, and I’m always in shock. I’m proud of them for doing what they need to for their students. We cut boxtops for them (since we homeschool) and I love knowing I’m helping in some way. This is a great program that Office Depot and Adopt-A-Classroom are doing!!!!
