This month has been FULL of excitement. But the best thing – being able to go to New York. BlogHer 12 was held in NYC from August 2-5. I was bound and determined to be able to attend – along with my boyfriend/co-reviewer. This was our First “vacation” together. Both our First time in New York. And this was both of our First Blog Her events. Neither of us could sleep Wednesday night – and it didnt seem to matter much because we had to be up at around 4 am to make our 7 am flight out of Detroit. Yuck… I dont like waking up that early.
When we arrived in New York, we used Dial-7 car services. The Driver was prompt and had no problem getting where we needed. I will have to say the driving style of New York is WAY different than Detroit. I was so happy to know that pretty much EVERY WHERE we were going to go that weekend was going to be close enough to walk to.
First stop – after dropping off our luggage at the hotel – was Lunch with some new friends! Here I got to meet Some great ladies! Dusty, Jeff and I sat together to start off – when everyone finally all arrived we gathered at a larger table – with Dana at the head of the table! If you haven’t met Dana, she is a blast! She is the writer/owner of The Dragyn’s Lair.
Then I got to meet some of the Window’s Team! And, by Windows. I mean Microsoft! Windows 8 will soon be hitting the market. This is a HUGE change in the way of the PC! Windows 8 is going to be a change for many. Instead of just having the icons and start up button, there are going to be tiles and touch screens and Apps! I am excited for it to come out.
Next was the HIGHLIGHT Of my night. I got to meet my BEST BLOGGING BUDDY!!! 😀 At the Spill Spa – by Carpet One, I got to meet Mimi from Woven By Words. Mimi and I have been blogging friends for quiet a while. I was super nervous to meet her – but once I saw her, I was like a High School Girl who hasnt seen her best friend All Summer! She’s one of the most amazing people I have ever met! (at this point in time, I really wish I had pulled out my camera! I was horrible at taking pictures this trip! :/
The rest of the night was spent visiting great brands at the Iconix Party and the Expo Hall! This is where I got to meet some great brands like – Candies, Mudd, Verizon, Dannon, Hillshire Farms, and So many others… I am still trying to sort through all the cards and pamphlets and notes and everything from this first day! Over the next month, I will be sharing about some of the brands I have met!
That night ended with a SUPER comfortable King Size Bed. If you ever go to New York, Make sure you stay at the Warrwick. It its a BEAUTIFUL hotel with the most comfortable Hotel Beds I have ever slept in!
