Very cool! We’ve scrapped a few cars ourselves. Hubby will haul them away for free, and word has gotten around. The nice thing is, we haul them for free, but we take them to the scrap yard and get money for them!
Wow this is a good idea to buy cars for scrap so you can use their parts. It makes it so much cheaper than to have to go out and buy individual parts. That is so expensive!
My dad kept an old heap in our back yard that he was always pulling parts out of to take care of his truck. We also made many trips to our local scrap yard for parts to give to our mechanic in place of more expensive parts. It sure was nice driving cars that were built to keep running with just some extra care. 🙂
I do how it is to fix up rides. My first husband use to buy cars fix them up I would fall in love with it and then he would sell it. He did this so much the ciity told him he would have to get a license for selling cars it he sold so many in one year that slowed him down but all thru are 25 years of marriage I bet we went thru over a 100 cars he just could not help himself that was his hobby. Now that he is gone I keep my car til it just cannot be fixed no more and then get another. thanks
I wish I knew how to fix cars because I pay an arm and a leg everytime something breaks…I never knew you could take a junky car and sell it for scrap metal. I will remember that for when my pile of junk dies.
my hubby has scrabed cars before but i cant say i have done it!! i totalled a car once and they hauled ot the yard for us and then gave the insurance the money

That car looks crazy! We’ve never scrapped before but that’s a smart way to replace parts!

Yeah, both my brother and fiancee have the same model car – so they both devoured this car for parts they needed to fix theirs.

I have never scrapped a car – to the best of my knowledge. I have totaled a car… that was not fun.

I’m very familiar with this scene. My dad has always bought wrecked cars and fixed them. It’s a lot of work, but saves soooo much money.
