Tutu Tuesday: Fourth Lesson
Whew! we made it through the first month of dance 🙂 Amazed? yeah me too.
This week we made it to class on time, with the right shoes, with our “Go To Dance” bags and all the items to keep a 4 year old boy happy while his sister is dancing.
This week the Teachers (Instructors?) decided to change it up a little bit for the girls. They let them use ribbons in
their dance lesson instead of at the end in free dance. They uses them while they were doing each hop, twirl and jump as well as while they got in formation. It was a little distracting but over all I was impressed with their continued learning curve.
The ribbons were two different colors Lime Green and Neon Pink. Of course my child would be the only one to pick Lime Green 🙂 I learned the technical term for these ribbon wands was “4m Dance Ribbon Wand” or “Gym Rhythmic Art Gymnastic Ballet Streamer Twirling Rod.” Such technical terms for a piece of ribbon attached to a stick that my child is gonna throw around and twist into a million and one knots while stepping on it and probably cause it to shred.
But the girls had fun (which is the point of all this craziness), the parents had a few laughs (at their daughters expense) and the brothers (stuck watching them) were happy and entertained. A good night for all involved- Next week BALLET starts– this will be interesting!
