I sometimes have a aversion to trying new foods; I am pretty wimpy when it comes to spices and bold flavors unless you are talking coffee… which I do experiment more readily with. When I received the rum cake in the mail, it comes as it;s shown in the photos, A nice box with the moist cake wrapped in plastic inside. Once I removed it I did the sniff test and the poke test. I gotta say it wasn’t really what i was expecting which in my case was a good thing. I was expecting to have a strong taste of rum and cake. Instead it was a light taste of rum mixed in with a sweet (but not overly sweet) cake that was melt in your mouth good. It was moist and smooth with out being over powering and I would definitely eat it again if offered or given as a gift.
