Create a Toiletry Basket with Poise and Depend from Sams Club

Have you ever waked into the bathroom at your Grandparent’s house and saw a Pack of Poise® or Depend® sitting on the back of their toilet?  They could put it in the cabinet underneath the sink, but as they get older, it gets harder and harder to bend down and grab what they need.  And since they weren’t expecting you, they may not have had the chance to hide their inconstancy products.

I know that even at my age, I have had to use Poise Liners for Light Bladder Leakage (LBL).  At 34, it is almost embarrassing to admit, and I know that it can’t get much easier even when you’re older.  No one wants to Brag about having incontinence issues.  There are a few different products found at Sam’s Club that are for LBL and Incontinence.  

Being a Sam’s Club member makes shopping for Poise and Depend Products extremely easy.  They carry Value size packages of the products we all need.  I was able to find both of the Depend and Poise products in the front half of the Club, over by the Pharmacy.   If you have never purchased any of these products, you may become overwhelmed when it comes to figuring out what you may need to purchase. Here are a few things that I have learned from shopping for myself, and also grandma.
Poise Liners (Light Absorbency, 2 dot) are specifically designated for Light Bladder Leakage.  They have an absorb-loc® core that locks away wetness and odor to help keep one fresh and dry.
Poise Pads (Maximum Absorbency, 5 dot) are designed to give more absorbency to give one the confidence and protection they need for LBL.  The absorb-loc® core quickly locks away wetness and odor, while the leak-block* sides provide discreet and worry-free protection.
Depend Fit-Flex Underwear for Women are flexible to move with you.  They feature all-around leg elastics and a smooth, close-to-body fit.  The slip-on protection is quiet and breathable, making it very discrete to wear.
Depend Fit-Flex Underwear for Men are flexible, quite and breathable, just like the Woman’s version, but are also created to comfortably fit a manOne thing that I have even seen was caregivers doubling up on protection; using a pair of Depend Underwear and also including a Poise Pad for those JUST IN CASE moments.
Your Grandparents may have seemed to come to terms with it because you found a Pack just resting on the back of their toilet, but maybe it’s there just as a convenience. So why not give Grandma a gift that is not only cute, but one that is also practical.    I have found the perfect solution to helping keep Grandma’s bathroom guest ready at all times.  Create a “Back of the toilet” toiletry basket. 

1. First you want to make sure to find all your supplies:  I chose a set of 3 matching baskets, a fall themed ribbon, Epsom salt, Bubble Bath, Candle Holders, a corked tall bottle, and a corked short bottle, and flowers.
2. Wrap the baskets around the center with matching ribbon.  I chose to not make this permanent, so you can change it out for the different seasons.
3. Fill your bottles with the Epsom Salt and Bubble Bath, and place in their respective basket, along with the 2 candle holders
4. Fill your long basket with the individually wrapped Poise Pads.
5. Place your wipes of choice in the second small basket.
6. Fill the remaining space with artificial flowers of choice. Use the Candle holders to keep these flowers in place.

The final step is presenting the Toiletry Baskets to the person of your choice, and decorating their bathroom with these new baskets.

These specific Gift baskets are going to a local Senior Care company – Always Best Care Senior Services.  My family has the pleasure of working with them when it comes to providing care for my Grandmother.    Companies like this are located in multiple states – and they offer both in house care and assisted living housings.  

Many of the Depend packages have a sticker inside that you can use to redeem at the Sam’s Club Pharmacy.  With this sticker you will receive a Caregiver Sample Kit.  I wasn’t able to redeem that sticker at my last visit, but I will be doing so when I go back to Sam’s Club next.    I know that we’re going to be needing other products from Sam’s Club to help aide in the Care of My Grandma.  Also, did you know that when you download the Digimarc Discovery app, you can scan anywhere on the Depend packaging, and it will take you to the Sam’s Club Caregiver website?  This is especially helpful when you are just drawing a blank on the items that you may need on your next visit.  And if you don’t have enough time to go walking through the club to find all your needs, you can always use their pickup services.  All you have to do is order online, pay for your items, go to Sam’s Club, check-in a their Kiosk and then you’re set to pick up your purchase!  All ways that Sam’s Club is making it easier for their members to shop.
