Superman Cupcakes are a must for a little or big Superheroes Birthday Party! These multi-colored cupcakes are moist and so easy to make!

If you have a little Superman fan at home then you know you need to make these inspired cupcakes!

Blue and Red Cupcakes

One of my favorite things about these cupcakes are their bright colors!

If you have a big fan instead of a little one, then why not plan a Superman Movie Binge? What would be better than a movie night bingeing on these delicious cupcakes and our unique cocktail? 


Before you get started making these Superman Inspired Cupcakes, make sure you have the following ingredients on hand:

Vanilla cake mix

Eggs

Whole milk

Softened unsalted sweet cream butter.

Red and blue food dye

Powdered sugar
Heavy whipping cream
Vanilla

Here are a couple of answers to some questions you might have about making this recipe:

HOW DO YOU FROST CUPCAKES WITH MULTIPLE COLORS OF FROSTING?

There are two ways that you can make multi-colored frosting.  One way is scooping one of the colors of frosting into a pastry bag and then using the back of a spoon to smooth the frosting into one side of the bag and then repeating on the opposite side of the bag with the other color.  Or you can purchase icing duet bags!

Superman Cupcake

Superman Cupcake

Superman Cupcakes are a must for a little or big Superheroes Birthday Party! These multi-colored cupcakes are moist and so easy to make!

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Additional Time 30 minutes
Total Time 55 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 box vanilla cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 C whole milk
  • 1/2 C softened unsalted sweet cream butter.
  • red and blue food dye
  • 1 C unsalted sweet cream butter softened
  • 2 C powder sugar
  • 3-4 TBS heavy whipping cream
  • 2 TSP vanilla
  • Blue and Red food dye

Instructions

    Cupcake Directions

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees

    Combine cake mix, milk, eggs and butter into a medium bowl and mix using a hand mixer until combined and thick.

    Split batter into two bowls.

    Add some blue dye to one bowl, mix

    Add some red dye to the other bowl mix.

    Line cupcake pan with red cupcake liners.

    Take a small ice cream scoop and scoop some red batter into the bottom of the liner.

    Repeat with blue and then red until 3/4 the way full.

    Bake for 20 minutes.

    Frosting Directions:

    Combine the butter, sugar, heavy cream and vanilla into a standing mixing bowl.

    Mix on medium speed until creamed, add in 1/4 powder sugar and 2 TBS heavy cream.

    Mix until stiff.

    Split frosting into two bowls and add the blue coloring to one bowl and the red to the other.

    Grab a pasty bag with a star tip and scoop some blue frosting into the bag and use the back of a spoon to smooth frosting into one side of the bag.

    Add red frosting to the other side.

    Pipe onto cupcakes in a swirling motion.
