One of the simplest things to make and an absolute favorite in our house is buttered noodles with Parmesan cheese. Due to Mr. D’s intolerance we have only been able to give him coconut buttered noodles with out cheese. Because he is getting older and starting to really take notice of the fact that his food is different from everyone else’s, we have been having a little bit of difficulty with him wanting the same as his sister. Which as we all know, cant always happen. So while checking out the local Kroger specialty section i happened upon this lovely bottle of fake parm cheese!!! imagine my delight and the possibility of using it. First test… Butter Noodles 🙂 It was an absolute hit. Mr. D loved it and of course mommy loved that he got to have ” the same as his sister!

We love buttered noodles—I have not seen this product on my grocery shelves, I will ask the manager if he can get it in. Thanks for the heads up.

Although I am probably as old (or older?) as you and your children combined – But for as long as I can I remember Buttered Noodles with Parmesan Cheese was my absolutel most favorite food in the world (except for chocolate…) whether I needed comforting or not!
And to tell the truth – IT still is – my kind of secret indulgence.
I’ve been following your SOY SUNDAY (Recipe Series) – and I really appreciate all the extra special work and attention it takes feed everyone in your family healthy (given individual needs) and delicious meals – especially as your wants to know why his food is different.
Fortunately, none of use suffers from lactose intolerance – although we are trying to cut back on dairy fat (and I did strike gold when my husband recently decided that he LOVES Tofu!) Anyway – I have to admit to having my “doubts” about the Go Veggies (or any) “Fake Parmesan Cheese” – but thanks to your shared experiences and honest impressions – I’m willing to give it a try. Thanks for the sharing – and I’ll let you know how it goes!
