 “Homemade” Soy Pizza1064451_10152001919172892_1884183803_o

Like a lot of people we like pizza. We try to limit the amount of pizza we eat because in general its not the healthiest of foods. When we do eat pizza we don’t want to leave Mr. D out if the yummy goodness so I make him his own pizza… Miss. Z likes it too 🙂1015469_10152001919037892_673095602_o

My pizza pan has been used for quite a few years, but we love it and i almost prefer it to the baking stone that we also have.

Ingredients we used:

  • Pizza Sauce (I used jarred pizza sauce instead of making it on my own, it’s a time saver)
  • Diced Ham (one of Mr. D’s favorites )
  • Soy/ Veggie Mozzarella flavored cheese
  • Dairy free Pizza Crusts. (There are many kinds out there. This was dairy/lactose free)
  • 1053045_10152001918622892_579547138_o

After preheating the oven to the time listed on the package (usually around 450), I took a little olive oil and brushed it on the pizza crust. Then I smoothed pizza sauce on the crust with a spoon and sprinkled a good layer of “cheese” on top. I then put the ham on the top, but you could use pepperoni or any other topping you like to mix it up. We baked it for the recommended time (about 12-15 minutes) after cutting it up and letting it cool, the little munchkins devoured it

I’ve never had the soy cheese, is it as tasty as regular mozzarella? Looks like a great recipe

It is as tasty as regular 🙂 the only difference is that it tends to soak up the sauce and change color where regular mozzarella stays pretty white. No complaints from the kiddos though.
