One tradition that I wanted to make sure that we included was the Unity Ceremony. But with us having an outdoor ceremony – we didn’t think that a Candle would do the job. There was no way of knowing in advance how the wind was going to blow. So after a little searching – I teamed up with Trading Vows. They have the Perfect Solution to our out door wedding: The Unity Sand Ceremony Shadow Box. A little about the Unity Shadow Box: A beautiful alternative to the traditional unity candle, our Unity Sand Ceremony Shadow Box Set creates a sentimentally chic way to display your love. Perfect for outdoor ceremonies or destination weddings, this keepsake kit includes everything you’ll need to create a memorable unity ceremony, as well as provide your home with a unique piece of decorative home decor after! Simply display your finished sand artwork and use your pouring vases for candles, flowers, or whatever else you see fit, and you’ll see just how amazing a symbolic centerpiece can be! (Trading Vows)
When we started planning our wedding, We knew we were going to go with a Sand Ceremony as opposed to the Unity Candle Ceremony. There were so many different styles of Sand Containers to choose from. But we wanted something that was going to be a great keepsake from the wedding. The Unity Sand Ceremony Shadow box was the PERFECT combination of our wants. The vases held a little less sand than I was expecting, but it is a great size to use during the ceremony. Since sand wasn’t included, we were able to go and pick out the colors that were closest our wedding colors. We chose purple and Ivory. As you can see purple is the base color. We will be adding in alternating layers of Ivory and Purple, until it fills up. When you look at the shadow box empty – the writing is lightly legible, but once you start putting sand, it comes out vibrant! With this Shadow Box, we had our Last Name initial etched, followed by both Jeff’s and my name and our wedding date. After the wedding -when the whole shadow box is filled, it will be the perfect reminder of Our Special day and will look amazing in my curio cabinet!
