Pro-plan-3For some of my newer readers, this is  my pup Tachometer (Tach for short). We got him when he was about 6 months old – back in 2004.  I knew from the moment that I saw him in the window, that he was meant to be my furbaby.
Pro-plan-4Ever since I became a stay at home mom, a few months back, Peanut INSISTS that Tach comes and takes a nap with us.  If you cant tell, no one was ready for nap time.  But it was defiantly time for some selfies.  And like any of my kids, Tach had to make sure he made an appearance in this photo.    He truly is a member of the family, and we need to make sure he is treated like family.

Pro-Plan-1Most people think that just because your dog is just a “Pet”, that any dog food would due.  For the longest time, I know I thought that way.  As Tach started to age, I started to pay a little more attention to what food he was getting.  But it wasn’t until recently that I took into account how old he really is.  Can you believe it, this coming May, Tach will be 12!   I really needed to start thinking about his nutrition.   So we decided to try Purina Pro Plan® BRIGHT MIND Adult 7+®.    Purina Pro Plan® BRIGHT MIND 7+ was created to help promote alertness and mental sharpness in dogs that are 7 and older.  It includes glucosamine to help support joint mobility and health as well as Vitamin A and linoleic acid for a healthy coat and skin.
Pro-plan-2Some of the features of Purina Pro Plan Bright Mind 7+:

  • According to experts at Purina Pro Plan, around age seven, the glucose metabolism in a dog’s brain begins to change, which can affect memory, learning, awareness or decision making.
  • Purina Pro Plan discovered a way to promote alertness and mental sharpness in dogs 7+ through nutrition and has introduced BRIGHT MIND Adult 7+ formulas.
  • Purina Pro Plan BRIGHT MIND Adult 7+ formulas contain enhanced botanical oils shown to promote alertness and mental sharpness in dogs seven and older with visible results within 30 days.
  • When added to the daily diet of dogs 7+, formulas that contained enhanced botanical oils promoted memory, attention and trainability.
  • Owners who feed their senior dogs Purina Pro Plan BRIGHT MIND Adult 7+ as a daily diet may notice differences in owner-dog interaction, interest in play and the ability to adapt and cope with change.Pro-plan-6a

Our dog is getting pretty old too so we really need to consider options like this for her nutrition. Thanks for sharing your story and for bringing awareness, not something we all think of when the dogs get up there in age. Your dog is ADORABLE!!!!
