BlogHer is JUST around the corner.  I cant believe in Just over 1 week – I will be in New York!  I have Never been there… Now I am just worried about what I am going to wear!    If you haven’t followed my journey.. I have been on Nutrisystem for about 4 months now – and Have lost a good 20-25 pounds.    Im Soooo Excited about that… But….Now, What Does this Single Mommy Wear?  I opened up my closet… Yes I have a HUGE wardrobe… with one tiny problem… EVERYTHING is at least 2 sizes too big – or they are hoodies..  And who wants to wear a hoodie to New York in AGUST?!?!  Not me!  Sigh,

I have always been a T-Shirt and Jeans type of gal – especially after having lil C.  When you gain 40+ pounds, and struggle getting it off… Yeah, I lost a lot of self confidence in my looks….  Now with a little help, I went from a size 13/14 down to a 9/10.  The next step.. Trying to figure out how to dress this new shape I have.   Don’t get me wrong, I do LOVE my t-shirt and  Jeans, But I also LOVE to be able to dress up a little.  Play up a pair of Black Slacks with a top that pops. And I Especially love tops that have a cowl neckline.  Theres something about them that say Sexy yet conservative at the same time!

And that is just the begining of the list of things I need help with!  Have you ever sat and watched “what not to wear”.  I have.  And when it comes to having your hair done, I am just as nervous as the guests on the show.  My hair has always been about the same… LONG and straight.  I did cut it a couple of times to donate to Lock for Love, but it was still the same hair style – just about 12″ shorter.  I know it is about time for a change, but I am so afraid that I wont know what looks good – and that the style I may choose – just wont look right on me.  The only thing about my hair that I wouldnt ever change is my hair color.  It’s 100% my own color and Im loving sporting it.

All this talk about a make over – and BlogHer.  I really should start getting together a list of what to wear!  Any suggestions?  I may need to do a quick shopping trip before I fly out, Just so I Look Presentable. No Sweat Pants for this Mama! Oh and,  Sorry S.A., I will not be sporting my work uniform.  I know it fits, but, It is in need of a vacation.   This Mama is looking for suggestions.  I’m all set with packing PJ’s.  Now for everything else. Boy, could this mama use a makeover.

** In writing this post, I’m entering the Microsoft Windows Style Makeover Sweepstakes for a chance to win a head to toe makeover!

Congrats on the weight loss! I would try TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and DSW, if you have one near you – there’s some near me, in W. Bloomfield and Novi, and I think one near where I work in Southfield. That way you can get a lot of new outfits for cheaper :).

Hey Lady, you so desire a vacation. But I can’t help by think “TAKE ME WITH YOU” New York is on my short list to visit. I agree T J Maxx or Ross are great places to shop and catch some great deals. A new do is definitely a must so remember you only live once so do something you’ve never done.

As much as you are comfortable with what you are wearing, wear it! It’s a matter how you carry it. If you feel like a real New Yorker, then so be it! In fact, you really look good now. Any dress will fit you I’m sure.
