I had NO Idea what to expect when going to the Ford Field for Monster Jam. The last time I had been to the field was for a concert – and I knew this had to be set up a little differently. I was right. the field was set up like a Race track with a bunch of obstacles in the center.
The night started off a little slower paced. They had truck races – each truck would race around the track twice and who ever crossed the line first – won that round. Then they went to semis and finals. It was a little exciting when the final laps came around, but… It was defiantly a good warm up event.
Then they had the Trailer Racing. Which Derby car could make it around the track (i believe it was 10 laps) with still having their “trailer” attached. LOL This was Hilarious! At one point in time, one of the cars got caught on someones trailer that was lost in the middle of the track. And it couldn’t go anywhere! Loved it. I guess I have a little Demolition side of me because seeing the Mobile home style trailer crushed into pieces was the best.
But for the final event. The Obstacles…. Who could jump the highest… who had the best burnouts… What truck would win? Hey, my group wasn’t rooting for them to finish cleanly. We wanted to see mud/dirt flying and cars flipping! I know those drivers were well protected. Most all the cars that flipped were the truck on our side of the arena! GO US!!! We had the greatest teams. And any of the drivers who flipped their trucks – would take some type of souvenir from their car – (Ex: El Toro took one of her trucks horns ) and give it to a lucky audience member!
I cant wait for them to come back into town. I am planning on taking my lil guy to see it. He saw the pictures I took (which will be up as soon as I can find a slide show program) and Is all excited to see them sometime.
