Miss Z turns 6 with an Ariel Birthday Party :
On Sept 11th Little Miss Z turned 6 and the family celebrated last Saturday with an Ariel Birthday party… Our Princess has had several different versions of a Disney Princess Birthday party, this one being probably one of the simplest and easiest that I planned.
This year Miss Z was adamant that she wanted an Ariel birthday… not under the sea, not little mermaid, just ARIEL! I thought, oh wonderful, where am I going to find just Ariel? Well I found it 🙂 Thank you Party City where we found all the awesome stuff we bought to decorate! We went pretty simple on the decorations… we used the premade decorations from Party City and some crepe paper streamers for decorations. We got an Ariel cupcake stand and cupcake wrappers, because she just HAD to have cupcakes. We got Ariel napkins, cake plates, table centerpieces and a pin the shell on Ariel game. We used our barn for the party because we had planned on having a bonfire and smores along with the fact that its just bigger and more open for people to relax.
This is Miss Z after she “pinned the shell on Ariel”. She cheated during this game which didn’t make anyone happy and because of it she didn’t get a prize for this game. Oh the joys of parenting
Another activity that we seem to have at each party is a candy/prize scramble. This year the kid’s Uncle got into the action with them.
These were some of the prizes in the scramble…
After our dinner at the Chili Bar, with a modified Homemade chili (idea and recipe found here on pinterest)We opened presents…
After presents we had cupcakes and cake and ice cream.
Miss Z asked for a Chocolate/Vanilla/Strawberry Cake with Chocolate frosting… and Neapolitan ice cream. She also wanted cupcakes… so we had a cupcake station. I decorated a few cupcakes with frosting and let the kids pick the sprinkles they wanted. The adults got to decorate their own. Mr. D was able to have the chocolate cupcakes with his own ice cream.
