My husband is very responsible, so I usually let him handle most of the bills. He likes to be in control of that stuff and I don’t mind. I think it makes him feel more manly, and he likes taking care of us. I also think it’s nice that I don’t have to spend time worrying about whether or not out bills are paid. I am busy enough with work and other responsibilities like keeping the house clean and taking care of the kids. Lately he has been busy at work, so I have tried to help out and take some responsibility for our finances. When I saw our cable bill I nearly died when I saw how expensive it was. I went directly to www.cabletelevision.net and switched to satellite. Now that I know more about our finances I feel empowered. It made me realize that small changes can make a big difference in our financial lives. I never thought I would like to be the one in control, but maybe I was wrong. I kind of like feeling in charge!

Ah…yes, bill paying. The necessary thing that no one wants to do! Your right, we should all be more aware of what our bills are. As you found out, we can’t change what we don’t know about.
