I had the opportunity to visit our local Best Buy – completely KID FREE! Do you know how exciting that is? I actually got to look at things that interested me, not just video games for the kids! While there, I ran across the BBY Smarthome by Vivint display. This completely intrigued me, so… I stopped and looked around. While walking around, I was greeted by Chris who explained the whole Vivint System
We’ve been quite fortunate to live in an area that I have considered safe. But it only takes one incident to make that not safe feeling go away. And you really don’t want to be caught unprepared if that time were to come. One thing that I loved about the Vivint system is that everything runs on the same application!
One thing that I found interesting that was integrated into the Vivint Smart home system was the Amazon Echo. Did you know with this system, you could tell Alexa to turn on or off your lights? Or even to make sure that your door is locked? But she can not tell it to unlock.
This helps prevent any unwanted guests.
Another thing about this system is that it runs off of your cellular system and not your home phone line or wifi. As Chris pointed out, a house phone line, someone can always cut the line and then the alarm will not go off. And wi-fi systesm can be easy for some people to hack into – making it useless if that happens.
At least with your cellphone, you can answer it anywhere. And if for some reason you don’t answer, the keypad is voice responsive. That way they can ask if you’re there and if you’re alright.
Make sure that you check your local Best Buy to see if they have the Vivint Smarthome set up! Packages start at just$699.99 and feature a ton of options for you to customize your home with. And if you already have some of the features (ie: Nest thermostat, Kwikset Smart Lock, and sensors ) you don’t HAVE to buy all new products to replace them.
