I know my son loves to eat…. but he prefers to not eat “Healthy” foods, he wants cookies and candies all the time… As long as it sounds like a “Snack” or “Dessert” food, he’s all for it… But mention the words “lunch” or “dinner” and he wants nothing to do with it.  Yep, that’s a typical 4 year old for you! Thinking they can eat only what they want!  If  I were to allow him to eat the foods he wants, he wouldn’t have the skinny figure he does! Randi Levin (The Muffin Lady) has created a book to help avoid childhood obesity – Love More Feed Less:  A Tasty Path Towards Avoiding Childhood Obesity.

A little about this book:  Yet this is not a diet book, or how to raise thin and fit kids cookbook! Instead the author walks you along a path toward first accepting that your child has an overweight issue and then how to make moderate changes in your family s eating and behavioral habits with ease and memorable, affordable flavors and activities. This path is not difficult to maneuver, but it does take a lot of love, dedication and a smidgen of effort to ensure your child s health. Straying away from the author s reputed high altitude recipe formulas, this cookbook bursts with tips, hints and recipe variations to meet your family s preferences at any altitude. The pages are filled with mouth-watering delights, to replace those sugared, salty and fat infused prepackaged, previously prepared and fast food temptations. (amazon.com)

I have had the chance to read through this book.  Like everyone else, I am concerned what goes into my sons mouth – as well as ours.  Usually when I look through a “healthy eating” book, I always feel that their recipes are OVER healthy sounding, or too costly!  Randi Levin has created a book that does not judge weight, but helps turn around our love for our children.  With love, you can still give them food that they would love – but with out a lot of the salt and sugar!  And that is the Truth!

How can you get this great book?   You can purchase this book online from The Muffin Lady herself – or Find it on Amazon.com

I really do recommend that you take a few moments and check out Randi Levin’s Blog!  Show her some love on one or more of her articles!
