Since Jeff and I have combined families, We have had a lot more clothes that we through through the dryer. When I was growing up we would always use dryer sheets. But I have started to get away from the softeners sheets and go to something a little more friendly on the environment. I have partnered with Woolzies to bring you an eco-friendly alternative to softeners and fabric sheets.
In this spirit, we are very proud to present WOOLZIES®, The All Natural Dryer Ball Set. This set of six handmade pure wool dryer balls are special in several ways. They deliver the same benefits for laundry as conventional fabric softeners WITHOUT all the nasty chemicals. They save everyone a lot of money by eliminating the need to continuously spend on fabric softener liquid and sheets. They cut down on the time it takes to dry a typical load by at least 25% thereby saving everyone even more money and cutting down on fossil fuel usage. Finally, being as that they are handmade in the democratic republic of Nepal, they provide a steady source of income to the desperately needy women of that developing nation.
Woolzies come in a pack of 6 – which is recommended for small, medium and large loads. If you have an Extra Large load, then they do recommend that you use at least 8. One thing I noticed when I first opened the box was that all the Woolzies Balls were not identical That is because they are not mass produced. They are hand made. Because of not wanting to use fabric softeners or dryer sheets, I have noticed that my clothes have been coming out a little stiffer than I was use to. So we tried the Woolzies Dryer balls. At first I tried it with just 2 balls. It made a slight difference, but Knowing that they suggested all 6… My next load used them all. With the dryer, it is usually set to dry by the sensor dry. With the Woolzies balls, I have notice that the dry time is a few minutes shorter and the clothes come out a lot softer than with out any softener or dryer sheets. Even though the Woolzies are made from a wool, they don’t shed, so you are not itching from the clothes you throw in with them. They are meant to last about 1000 washes. I will defiantly put these to the test. We do at least 5-6 loads a week. Lets see how long they last!
Make sure to take a moment to follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
Nice. Thanks for sharing. Right now I use these really funky balls that have nubs on them. Eventually they do wear down. Maybe I’ll look into this alternative. 🙂
