This is MY deck! Can you tell… It’s DIRTY! I moved into my condo just about a year ago… And this is my first FULL Summer… So I am going all out and trying to make it look the best it can. And we needed to start with this deck. I swear – it is Wood!!! It doesn’t look like it, but it is. Realizing that it needs to be scrubbed – I now know need to get the right cleaning product. And I did so with Thompson’s WaterSeal Wood Cleaner!
A little about the Thompson Cleaner – Specially designed to remove weathered clear and tinted waterproofers and semi-transparent stains with concentrated cleaning power for decks, fences, siding and other exterior wood surfaces. It also restores the natural color and beauty to severely weathered and discolored wood without bleaching. Unlike many competitive products, Thompson’s® WaterSeal® Wood Cleaner is pH neutral, which means you do not need to apply another solution before waterproofing or staining. Additionally, this cleaner maximizes the performance of waterproofers and stains.
Can you tell which side was cleaned? It didn’t help that When I get motivated to do something – It doesn’t matter what time it is … I will be doing it. So at 10pm I had myself and one of my great friends out there Scrubbing the deck… What did we use? We used the great products created by Thompsons WaterSeal! I figured this deck would be the true test. I have NO clue when it was built. I have NO clue how well the previous owners took care of it… I just knew that When it got wet, you could use your shoe and scrub off a little layer of dirt! BLAH! It was disgusting! But no longer is it that way! So, We grabbed a bucket of HOT water, and some Kitchen Scrubbing pads and went to work. It took us about an hour to clean the whole deck. And it was completely worth it! As you can tell in the picture below – it is a HUGE difference – from what it original looked like! Just like Night and Day.
No we didn’t leave it half done. It is Completely Scrubbed down… And Just waiting to be stained! Check back to see what it looks like when it is completely Stained!

Wow, what a difference! Due to the weather, we have to sand, clean and stain our decks every few years, or they look horrible. It’s in our plans this summer. I’ll have to show this to the hubby, thanks for the recommendation!
