As Tach has gotten older, more things have started to bother him. When the weather starts to turn into a storm, he runs to the bathtub and starts to try digging to China. And it never fails, the storms always come through after everyone has gone to bed. So that means I get to snuggle Tach like a little baby trying to get him to calm down. Thanks to the people at AKC Calming Coat, we’re going to try to help him through these storms.
A little about the Calming Coat
The AKC Calming Coat is designed to apply constant pressure on the dogs torso. This pressure applying methodology is similar to a parent swaddling their infant child, as it tends to provide a calming effect for most dogs. It is easy and safe to use, machine washable and a non drug way to keep a pet calm during times of stress.
The Calming Coat is good to help control:
Separation Anxiety
Firework Anxiety
Excessive Barking
Noise Anxiety
Thunderstorms
Hyperactivity
Crating Anxiety
Travel Anxiety
Excess Shaking
Vet Visits
and More….
Our thoughts about the AKC Calming Coat
As soon as I received this in the mail, I automatically went to try this on Tach. I just wanted to make sure it fit. I would have hated to have waited until we needed it to try it, and it not fit right. But it seemed to fit fine. (You can find fitting instructions here). He looked at me like I was crazy trying to put it on him. It did take him 2 or 3 minutes to get use to wearing it. Even though it wasn’t storming out, you could see that he did seem a little less anxious in general. I have been waiting for a storm to pass through, but we’re hitting the winter months so thunder storms are almost non-existent.
You can purchase an AKC Calming Coat through their website. Make sure to take a moment to follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
