Fathers Day is quickly coming up.  And if he is a smoker…what is better to get your father than some Great Cigars. Gurkah has a great line Cigars- I have had the chance to try out a couple different kinds of cigars from Gurkah Cigars.  Well, not myself, but my gentlemen friends… I received Grand Reserve and Evil.

The Legend behind Gurkah Cigars: “At the height of the British rule in India, colonial soldiers began to make their own cigars from the local tobacco. The fondness of the British for these legendary Nepalese fighters inspired them to name their cigars “ Gurkhas.” After the rule of the Raja Waned, British expatriates living in India continued to smoke Gurkhas produced in the Portuguese territory of Goa. Eventually, However, The Gurkha cigars simply lapsed into obscurity. Steeped in legend and history, the Gurkha cigars, created more than a century ago has been reborn and remains true to its roots in faraway India. Today, the legend lives on in the premium brand cigars “ Gurkha.” (Gurkha)

The website states that “The Grand Reserve is the flagship brand of Gurkha Cigars. This magnificent cigar is infused with the finest cognac in the world, and handmade from the finest tobaccos. The premium Connecticut shade wrapper gives this Honduran made cigar a rich, creamy flavor with a hint of spice and promises a pleasantly light finish you will truly enjoy. ” (Gurkha)  My reviewer of this cigar informed me that there was a hint of cognac flavoring – It was not strong.  This cigar burned nice and slow.

The other cigar was Evil. ” This cigar lives up to its name. It will not take any prisoners. Gurkha’s first true full body cigar will test your palate and your fill. Five shapes Robusto, Toro, Torpedo, Churchill, and the infamous DAGGER, this strong but flavorful Brazilian Wrapper, accompanied by a perfect Dominican Binder, with an exquisite Peruvian/Nicaraguan Filler lives up to its name, Assassin” (Gurkha)   This cigar was said to also burn at the perfect rate!

Both cigars were recommended for gifts for dads!  I have never shopped for cigars before…  It is great to know that Gurkha has a description and gives extra details for each cigar – making picking a little easier.  Now just to decide what cigar box looks the best!
