I love being the proud mama to 2 furbabies. One Cat and One dog. They are like brothers – even though they are different Animals. They fight like brothers, and they love each other like brothers. But I will have to say that Tach thinks he’s mamas favorite, and sure plays up to it. Do I play favorites? I try not to, but.. I do love my Tach a lot, and have Spoiled him greatly since moving back home. This is my Tach (isn’t he handsome, he just got done from the groomers) And to top things off, My puppy will be turning 8 in may!!!! Can you believe it. He’s no longer a puppy… But he has always been a big part of my life. I have realized that Dogs are Man’s (or woman’s) Best friends. Every day I see at least 1 or 5 other doggies out with their owners in the condo complex that I live in. Each dog seems to be a part of the family – I have never seen an outdoor dog house or any dogs just left outside all day – Like I have in the past. This makes me love the community I live in a little more. What made it even better – When my puppy came to live with me, We went to pay the Association fee and the office lady gave Tach a Milkbone. She said she always has a stash of snacks waiting for the puppies that came to visit.. Which gave me a great idea – How about Tach and I share some great treats with these other puppies in the complex.
I went with some friend to Walmart – and while they went one way to shop in the hunting section, I chose to go shopping in the Pet section. They have a whole aisle of treats and snacks and foods plus another aisle that had toys and pet beds! I love how they cater to the puppies in the world. I was looking for JUST the right treats to share with our fur-friends. That’s when I ran across Milk Bone Trail Mix, Pup-Peroni Mix Stix and Milo’s HomeStyle Kitchen Treats.
After touring the aisles I managed to pick up a handful of different treats and snacks – Including Milk Bones Trail Mix, Pup-Peroni Mix Stix and A few different flavors of the Milo’s Kitchen line. (and boy do I mean a Handful, Because I wasnt thinking when I went into Walmart, I didn’t grab a shopping cart). I even found a 3 pack of rubber toys that were going to be perfect for the pups. They had a hole in the center and you’re able to put one of those Chicken Meatballs by Milo’s Kitchen in it – Tach Loves it. Kept him occupied for hours trying to get every last piece of Meatball out.
That next day we had to go visit my parents and help tear up their back porch. While we were heading there, I made sure to give their Puppy Sophie (she’s going on 14 this year) some treats – just to show her how important Tach and I think she is! And She is very important – and it seems that she doesnt feel that was as much since her brother passed away. (I tried REALLY REALLY Hard to get a picture of Sophie and her new treats and toy – but she just Kept BLENDING into the carpeting or bluring because she is camera shy)
So after taking some time and pulling up all the bricks in my parents back yard -and unloading them in my yard, I realized that Sharing these treats felt good. I knew theye were good for your puppies…and I knew my puppy LOVED the flavors… (and he’s been a picky eater lately) … So around the complex we went. I have only been living here for a few months now – so I havent met all the neighbors that have doggies – but I have met a few… So off to sharing with them I went. First stop, the Office. Being a Sunday, the office was completely closed. So I just left the little gift set between the interior and exterior door – with a lil not saying “For all the Fur Kids in the complex, Love Tach”. I know she’s going to be extremely delighted to open the door in the morning after she gets into the office (and well after I am at work) Then off to a few other houses…. Can you believe that at 7pm NO ONE WAS Home. I tried a few of the puppy owners … And for everyone that didn’t answer – they got a small pack of treats attached to their mailbox.
I know that the owners of the wonderful puppies that live at these houses are going to be super excited that Tach Shared some of his Favorite Treats with them. And I know the puppies are going to be extremely excited to receive them.

I’m so excited to have a pup back in our lives in the next couple of months. It’s been strange not having one for almost 9 months! Tach is such a beautiful dog. I think your neighbors will be pleasantly surprised by their delivered treats! I think I might start stocking up on some treats for my future puppy!
That was a sweet thing to do. I miss our sweet girl. We had her since she was a puppy and she died last year just short of her 13th birthday.
What a great way to get to know your community better and so sweet of you too.
love that you brought these over! i would love to try the m.kitchen but they are NEVER at my local walmart :o(
I LOVE your doggie, aww! That’s so sweet of you to share with your friends. I did something when I was in high school, made a little note about May Day and attached a little pretend rose. I put them in mailboxes on my way to school on May Day, did over 30 houses. It felt great.
What a cute idea to leave the treats in the mailbox!
There’s something that just tickles me about seeing dog treats hanging on the mailbox. It’s like the mailman is bribing the dog not to bite him! LOL
Great story!
