Trying to teach our Children the True meaning of Christmas isn’t always the easiest.  Especially when they are younger.    I know lil C thinks that Christmas is only about getting gifts …  But hopefully with the Book “The Sparkle Box”, Lil C will have a better understanding for the season.    I received a copy of The Sparkle Box this Holiday Season.  The-Sparkle-Box

A little about The Sparkle Box:  Sam is so excited about Christmas! He’s thinking about his Christmas list, looking forward to holiday parties, and puzzling over one very mysterious gift: a sparkly box sitting on the mantel. In the midst of the festivities, Sam and his family participate in various acts of kindness to others. On Christmas morning, when Sam finally opens the Sparkle Box, he finds only slips of paper that record the family’s good deeds. Sam’s mom explains that the things that they’ve been doing are, in fact, a gift for Jesus, for Jesus said that whatever we do for those in need, we do for Him.

As soon as the book arrived, I pulled it out to read it.  Just from what the synopsis said about the book, I was intrigued.   Even though it is only 32 pages, it holds a great story with a good message behind it.   Yes, we do receive gifts during Christmas, but we should also be giving “gifts”  And as this story says, doing good deeds for others during this holiday season is one of the greatest gifts that Jesus wants us to give.   If you have children, young and old, in your house… Make sure you get this book.   Also included with this book, is a pop out Sparkle Box of your own.

You can purchase this book at The Sparkle Box Website.

Did you do anything special for others this season?
