I partnered with Goldfish Swim School to bring you the latest information and to share our experience. All opinions are 100% my own and are not influenced in any way.

As a teenager, I took swim classes and made it all the way to being a lifeguard. Not only did I learn how to swim, but I also learned the importance of safety in the water.  Now that I have kids, I have been trying to instill in them how important it is to know how to swim.  I started teaching Lil C a few years back how to swim, so he had the basic knowledge and skills.  But Peanut, I had no idea where to start teaching her.  I never went through, nor taught, a parent/tot class…How do you get a toddler to pay attention, much less follow directions? That’s what we we’re about to find out!  Lil C and Peanut have started their journey at Goldfish Swim School!  gfss-logo-stacked

Little C’s Experience at Goldfish Swim School

As I mentioned Lil C had some swim knowledge, but I wasnt sure if he was a strong enough swimmer, so we enrolled him in a beginner class.  At the end of the first day he advanced 2 levels!  He even received 2 ribbons for the day! I was so proud of him!  He is now in the correct swim class.  On the second day of class, he was disappointed that he didnt move up another level!  But he realzies that he has some skills that he needs to practice.  He loves swimming every week, and learning and being able to show off in front of his dad.

Peanut’s Expeirence at Golfish Swim School

Day 1:  ROUGH!  She did not want to unwrap her legs from me.  Nor did she want to let go of my neck.  And she forsure didnt want the teacher near her…. I felt defeated.  Second class… She became a little more relaxed.  By this 4th class, she has gained confidence that she didnt have before.  Now on saturdays she’s begging to go to “fish”!

My rule for any pool is NO RUNNING around the pool! My daughter did that when she was younger and got the biggest raspberry on her butt! LOL Second is don’t go into the deep side unless you know you can handle that.
