*I was compensated for my #couchcritics shop and time by Collective Bias!
Not very often do I get off of work early enough to enjoy things… So when I had the chance to watch a movie with my family I jumped at it. It is Mexican night – with a Mexican based dinner and a movie…. So I headed to Kroger’s to see what I could find… My plan was to make Enchiladas and Rice…But….. This was a rough shop – because when I called home to see how everyone was doing, NO one wanted to eat dinner… Everyone in the house this week has gotten sick … So… Dinner was a total miss-match of foods.. Soups for the ones who didn’t feel good, Chicken nuggets for the lil guy…. and A Banquet Mexican Meal for me! Our movie of choice… As my son would call it… The Doggie Movie.. Otherwise known as Beverly Hills Chihuahua II… We’re #couchcritics.
A Little about the Movie:
Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 is all about the power of love and family–and talking Chihuahuas, of course. In this sequel to Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Chloe and Papi have just been married in grand style, and they close their celebration by wishing upon a falling star. Four months later, the two are happily adjusting to their new roles as proud parents–something that’s not such an easy task for Papi, who often seems to act more like a sixth puppy than a father, and whose stories of famous historical dogs only seem to get his overexuberant puppies into trouble. Papi’s owner Sam has been left in charge of all the dogs, while his girlfriend Rachel and her Aunt Viv travel to the rainforest to do some important research.
It looks like life for the new canine family will be all fancy dog parks and cute little doggie outfits until Sam discovers that his parents are facing foreclosure on their home.
Sam and his father head to the bank to see what can be done, while Papi’s brother Pedro joins forces with Sam, Papi, his pups, and the newly arrived Delgado (who’s just shown up on his own important mission) to formulate their own plan to help Sam’s parents. One dog show and one bank robbery later, it looks like these financially turbulent times will claim not only Sam’s childhood home, but also his relationship with Rachel. In the end, both dogs and humans learn some important lessons about making tough choices, the importance of family and love, and the power of collaboration. (amazon.com)
I was a little worried that Since I haven’t seen the First B.H.C. movie… that I would be totally Lost…
But to my surprise… It was quite easy to follow. I’m pretty sure that If I saw the 1st movie, I would have understood the relationship between Sam and his girlfriend… but… That is just a minor detail. This movie can be a stand alone movie – as well as a sequel… This movie has a great theme – That theme is Family… Family and Love. Being a #couchcritic is lots of fun!
My husband and I watched the movie
The lil guy fell asleep before it started (he has been feeling under the weather)…The hubs rolled his eyes when I told him I wanted to watch it… but…Don’t worry, He was right there laughing along… (he wont admit it, but he like the movie)… How can you not laugh at a family of dogs.. Who know how to only get into mischief! And a Father dog that leads them into mischief! – Through his stories about the Warrior Chihuahua!
I am so glad that we had the chance to be #couchcritics and watch this movie… I cant wait to get it again so my son can watch it… He will love it.. I just hope it doesn’t give him too many ideas! He is a trouble maker as it is…LOL
