Disclosure:  I was able to test drive this car for 1 week. I received no financial compensation for this post
One thing you may not know about me – is I LOVE cars… Old Cars… New Cars…Big Cars and … well, Bigger Cars!  I am all about Power and Speed… But Being a mom, I have noticed that I have started to look more into Affordability, Reliability and Practicality.  I have had the opportunity to Drive a Honda CR-V!  I will say that I am Grateful for this Experience!

Because of the Michigan Weather, the Honda CR-V was delivered a night early!  I was super excited – that when it came to my lunch break at work, I Rushed Home (yet still staying within the speed limit) to Switch Cars, then Stopped at my moms house to Show off my new “toy”.  Lil C was all excited to go look at the car… The First thing he asked was “Is that Ours?”  I couldnt help but laugh.

One of the buttons the Intrigued me the most was the Green button that looked like it had a Leaf on it.  This button is for Eco Assist.  Eco Assist:  With Eco Assist, car and driver work together to help improve fuel efficiency. Push the green ECON button and the CR-V automatically adjusts its systems to help make them more efficient. Eco Assist also gives real-time feedback on how efficiently you’re driving. Monitor the bars around the speedometer, and the more they stay in the green, the farther you can go on a tankful.
It wasn’t until AFTER the Honda went back, that I fully understood what Eco Assist was.  I didn’t realize that the Green around the Speedometer and the Eco Assist button worked together Hand in Hand.   I just thought that the Green lights were just part of the lighting.  I guess that means I was a Super Eco Driver!

Lil C’s favorite thing – as well as all the kids that rode with us – was the Drop down TV screen.   This was probably one of my favorite parts also (shhhh, dont tell anyone, i sat in back for a few to check out the TV).  The Honda CR-V not only has a drop down TV, but you can also get Wireless headphones for your child.  This makes it so you and your passengers can still listen to the radio and the kid(s) can laugh at Garfield (or the program of their choice)  The headphones that Came with the Honda that I reviewed didn’t have an on/off switch.  They were just automatic on/off.  As soon as you straighten out the ear pieces to put it on, the head phones would power on.

I was very impressed with the MPG that this car offers.   I would have thought that the Honda – being along the lines of an SUV – would be much lower than it was, but it Easily Comps the MPG of my G6.  According to Honda, the AWD CR-V Gets 22MPG/City and 30 MpG / Highway!  I love the fact that it didnt cost much more than my car to fill up (going from 1/4 tank to full on each)  and it got me the same distance (if not a few miles more) of my typical driving!

I am so use to driving a car – which sits lower to the ground. I have Driven a few SUVs before  and they were always so high up,… But with the Honda CR-V it was the perfect IN Between.  You can see there is a difference in height between the Honda CR-V and my dads Ford Explorer.  Personally I love the Almost Car feel of the Honda!

Well, I did have to give it back.  Lil C asked if we could keep it… I had to tell him no – But a part of me was wishing the Same thing as well!  I think he just didnt want to give back the opportunity to watch TV every morning on the way to school.  There are so many great things that the Honda CR-V offers.   Take a moment to visit your local Honda Dealer-  and consider taking a 2012 CR-V out for a test drive.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I test drove this car for a week in the hope that I would mention it on my blog. I did not receive any monetary compensation for this post.  Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”

hahahaha I’d end up in the backseat watching the tv, too! I love the idea of the Eco Assist! I have an AWD right now and love it! I’d like to get another vehicle with AWD and was hoping for a crossover! I’ll have to check into the CR-V more!

This looks like an amazing vehichle. We have an Oddessy and love it, but I think that when it comes time to replace my husbands sedan we will be looking to Honda again. I love their SUVs.

Wow that sounds like a great vehicle. My kids would definitely enjoy watching cartoons in the morning while in the car! I love the fact that you said it isn’t as high up as usual SUV’s. Sounds like my type of vehicle!

My husband just bought me one today… but it’s the awd lx, no tv just the basic one with Bluetooth connection for radio and hands free where u hear your calls through the radio and it has the back up Screen to see behind u….pretty basic other than that, but I traded in my 2004 Ford Escape so we for $1500 … He paid cash for it and who am I to complain at least we don’t have to pay interest by taking out a loan or leasing it

Sent u a picture of it lol

I’m always afraid to sign up for test drives like that because I don’t think I’d be able to give back a car like that after I drove it….
