
2 cups Flour
2 tsp. Baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2/3 cups shortening
2/3 cups sugar
2/3 cups brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
1 cup smashed bananas (about 2 full size bananas)
6 oz package chocolate chips

Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
Cream shortening sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add in vanilla, eggs and bananas and mix.
Add flour mixture.
Stir in chips
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes
I personally start at 20 minutes and then check the Bars. To check to see if they’re done, you take a toothpick to the middle (or the highest point in the bars) and stick it in – if it comes out clean then they’re done… If it comes out with a little dough, then you need to bake them a little longer.
