There are many volunteers in the world, but not many of them ever get recognized… and when there is a chance for the recognition to be there, they shy away from the spotlight.  That is a true volunteer!  I have been lucky to work with many great volunteers over my life…   There are 2 people who – in my life – have made an impact other peoples lives

The first person was a special woman, who never wanted the spotlight. She did so much for our church (while it was still open)  She was a choir member, she held a spot on the church board…  She decorated the church for the holidays …. and was always Very friendly…  Just an outstanding member….  Yet she always would shy  away from any recognition.  She was just known as the gardening  angel.

And another great volunteer in my life…is my mom.  When she was let go from her job, she still volunteered to do school round-ups and events… Just because she felt the kids there were just like her own …. She couldn’t deny the kids of the extra help.  Who else would be there to help with book fair… or go in for after school events just to serve food for the young’ins.  She did get her job back after a year of being laid off… And even though she’s works with the kids during the days (paid for) she does go in after to root her “Family” on at the talent shows, concerts…. Book fairs… all the events where they may NEED an extra hand.

Carolina Pad and VolunteerSpot.com are recognizing all the great volunteers in our communities.  What is VolunteerSpot.com?
“VolunteerSpot launched in Spring, 2009 with the mission of enabling ANYONE to quickly mobilize and coordinate volunteers in their community, congregation and social network. VolunteerSpot’s simple sign up application makes it easy for community members to participate and say YES to volunteering. No waiting for approvals and passwords, no software to install, just easy, free scheduling and sign up tools for everyday heroes making a difference”

Would you like the chance to win a prize from Carolina Pad?  Would you like to tell the world about the volunteer in your life?  Carolina Pad and VolunteerSpot is running a contest from March 21st through April 1st.  Click on the picture above or go HERE for your chance to enter!  Let Carolina Pad and VolunteerSpot Know why your volunteer is the best  and why they should win.  They will announce one winner a day from April 11-15th.

Here is a Special Thanks to all the wonderful Volunteers out there!
