“This post is sponsored by Carter’s; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.”

These past 12 months have been the months of babies!  It all started in September of 2015: First my niece was born, then my cousin had her little girl in November, Courtney from Joy of Momma Joyner had her little girl in July, Trista from Anderson’s Angels had her little boy in August… And now I have 4 more friends with babies due before the end of the year, which means a couple of baby showers that I have been invited to.  I try to make sure that I get items that are essential for New Babies; CLOTHES!  I try to pick out not only something that Baby can wear right away, but also something that can be worn as he/she grows older. With so many showers coming up, off to Carter’s Peanut and I went.carters-storefrontOne brand that I have always been true to – with both my kids – has been Carter’s. The Carter’s clothes that Lil C has as a baby has been handed down to Peanut, my nephew and Lil C’s other cousin.  These outfits are 9 years old and still going strong!   From Newborn to 24 months, lil ones seem to grow like weeds.   You don’t want to have too little of each style clothing, but then again you don’t want to have too many.  We had that problem with Lil C.  He had more outfits in his dresser than he could wear in the 3 month stretch.     Ideally you will want at least 2 outfits for each day minimum.   carters-clothes

Here are some of the Carter’s Baby Clothes Essentials:Carter-BodysuitThe Original Body Suit – This is a Must have for the first year!  I would recommend to have at least 10-15 of these on hand in each size.  You will always be changing them when the baby spits up or has a accident in his/her diaper.  (I love dressing up a stuffed animal for a baby shower – two gifts in one)

Carter-Outfit-Without-JacketDress Clothes – No Matter what, your lil one wont always live in Body suits and pants.  You will have holidays that you may want to dress him/her up in.  For boys I would recommend at least one – two dressy outfits in each size range. This can be either a vest and tie ourfit (for the holidays) or just khaki pants and a button down
For Girls: I would recommend at least 3-5 dresses.  These don’t have to be the formal Holiday dresses, but even sun dresses for the summer.  My favorite is the Carter’s Dress with the little jacket over it. (The dress shown above does come with a blue sweater jacket, but it was warm out and Peanut chose to not wear it)Carters-Outfit-2
Tops and Pants:  You should have at least 5 -10 pants/shorts (depending on the weather) and at least 5-10 shirts in each size range.  One thing we use to love to do with Lil C was layer a short sleeve shirt on top of an Original Bodysuit!  carters-outfit-3

Outfit Sets:  Carter’s carries a great line of outfits.  Most of the outfit sets that I have ever purchased included a bodysuit and a pair of pants.  During the fall you can also find them with hoodies or sweaters as well!118G696_DefaultPajamas:  Carter’s offers a few different styles of Pajamas for the first 24 months. My favorite of all the Pajamas were the Sleep Sacks. I personally recommend getting a couple of each style – the footed, the footless and the sleep-bag styles.   Both ‘Lil C and Peanut couldn’t stand having footed Pajamas.  They loved having their feet free (I guess that’s probably makes sense when it comes to them liking to be 100% barefoot and no socks!)

Carters-Shoes-1
And you cant forget Shoes!!!!  Peanut is in LOVE with shoes – and Carter’s has a huge selection to go with every outfit you can imagine.  Our shopping trip would not have been complete with out finding a new pair of shoes for Peanut to wear…. We found some cute dress shoes to purchase this trip.  It also helps having a cousin who is over a year younger than you – so you know the shoes will get a lot of love!   Carter-Shoe-3If you are like me, you like shopping for deals!  Right now you can Save 25% off your purchase of $40 or more! I adore carter’s clothes! My daughter has had a lot of them over the last 5 years and they are always such good quality and look great for the entire duration she fits them and usually last long enough to be passed on to the next person, which is always a bonus!
