When Nutrisystem accepted me into their blogging team, they sent out a Blogger Kit – which has different Suggestions for every week. While looking at it before writing my post, I noticed what the inspiration for this week was. The weekly inspiration for this week is: “Not all weight loss progress is about the pounds. Make sure you’re keeping track of every way your body is changing. Even the smallest change is a reason to celebrate” Even though I have only officially been on the Nutrisystem Program for 2.5 weeks, I have started to physically notice some changes. A lot of that I give credit to the change of eating habits.
I have been eating a salad with every dinner. As you can see in the photo I have a salad and green beans – that’s 2 of the 4 recommended daily servings of vegetables. I also have Homemade, unsweetened applesauce (which is my 1 smart carb for the day ) and 1 hard-boiled egg (which is 1 of my 3 allotted PowerFuels for the day.). By the time I finish with that I’m almost not hungry enough to eat my Entree… So If I can keep with the salad before every dinner, I know I will be able to control how much of the entrees I eat when it comes to my Nutrisystem Journey being over.
And being told that I HAVE to eat my desserts – even if I chose to eat them during the day. The only problem, is if Peanut sees any of my snacks, she claims them for herself. As you can see, she’s eating my Honey Mustard Pretzels.
Fitness is the other reason that I have been noticing weight loss. With Nutrisystem, not only do you make sure to follow the food plan, but you also need to do at least 30 minutes of activity a day. I personally have an elliptical and I make sure to get on it for at least 30 minutes every day. I do add in other strength training activities when I have the ability to (ie: when Peanut isn’t under my feet) Typically I use MyFitnessPal for tracking my food and exercise – that way I can keep accountable by my other friends – who may not be on Nutrisystem. But Nutrisystem does have their own tracker -NuMi!

You’re doing fantastically, keep up the good work. It’s amazing to see the stat numbers going down every week isn’t it? 🙂

This is a real inspiration. I have thought about trying Nutrisystem but always talk myself out of it because it is “too hard.” You make me want to see it through!

It is actually easier than I thought – with everything laid out just right for you. Takes out a lot of guesswork when it comes to meals and portions….

Congrats on your weight loss so far, that is awesome! I agree that it’s not always about losing weight. I think the main goal should always be to feel good and be healthy! 🙂

Congrats to you on getting healthier! That salad looks really good and it’s so true – when I have a salad before dinner (and remind myself to eat slower and not scarf my food down) I do get full quicker.

I totally need to lose weight, but I don’t know that I could be brave enough to do it in such a public forum. I am so encouraged by your bravery to step out there and do it in front of everyone. You look beautiful already, so I hope that you keep getting healthier so you can have a long and happy life!

Documenting it like this has really make me stay accountable for my actions. The first week I took photos of myself, that was the hardest thing to do. But from there on it hasnt been too bad.

Keep up the great work! I love working out and it really helps my mind and my body! I’m still trying to eat healthy…that’s my biggest challenge!
thismamaslife says
My biggest challenge is I’m a huge carb fan. So I’ve cut out a lot of the traditional carbs that I would eat (Ie: Larger helpings of Potatoes or breads and pastas) and replaced them with true servings of Smart carbs (fruits )

I have been trying so hard to lose weight. My biggest issue is portion control, I always eat to much. I love that Nutrisystem lays it all out for you. that takes the guess work out 🙂

It is pretty well laid out for you. They send you meals for breakfast lunch and dinner and then you add in your own veggies and fruits and proteins (I love cashews, so thats my “protein snack” choice).

What did you put on your egg? I love working out, my problem is eating. 🙁
thismamaslife says
I used fat free Catalina dressing on my egg.

You are doing an amazing job! Congrats on the 7+ pounds! I can only imagine how hard it is but you are going to be so happy you stuck to it! 🙂

Thank you!

Congrats! Losing weight is so hard. Nutrisystem sounds great. I’ve done weight watchers in the past but have never tried nutrisystem. It sounds like a great option. By the way your daughter is adorable.

I tried following the weight watchers guidelines a few years back (my friend was on it) I had such a hard time counting points.

As much as I hate getting on the elliptical every day, I do have to admit that I do feel a bit better afterwards
Jeanine says
How awesome! You are doing fabulous. I try to exercise as much as I can but it’s been tough lately. You are doing just great!

Congratulations on your weight loss! I use weight watchers but I’ve heard great things about nutrisystem too!

Way to go! Sounds like an awesome plan. It seems to be working good. I have an elliptical that I love to use when I have time too.

This post couldn’t have come at a better time. My friend has been wanting to do Nutrisystem for a while now but wanted to see “a real persons” experience with it. I’ll definitely be passing this on to her <3
