Ever since moving out on my own with lil C, I have started to take an attempt at cooking.  Am I the best at it?  Probably not, but I haven’t poisoned anyone yet… Jeff even has come to appreciate some of the small meals that i Have cooked for him.  I’m not the greatest at cooking up pork, but I will have to pat my self on the back when it comes to chicken.  I have been getting tired of cooking chicken in the same ‘ole way, So when I had the opportunity to work with Tropical Traditions I was Ecstatic. They sent me a jar of their Virgin Coconut Oil to try out.  Looking on the the Tropical Traditions website, I found that there are many recipes that use  Coconut oil.  You can find some of the many recipes here.Tropical Traditions
When it arrived, the jar of Coconut oil was liquid… But after it sitting in the house for a while, it solidified.  Fun Fact: When it is below 76 degrees F it is a solid, when it warms up above 76 degrees it starts to turn liquid.  But before it solidified, I made up two separate containers.  One was for kitchen use, the other was for personal use.
My kitchen container sits neatly in my cupboard.  It comes out when ever I cook chicken.  I like to cut my chicken up in little chunks and then add them to pasta or salads… I use to just cook it in regular olive oil, and then sprinkle garlic powder on the pieces… But I have found myself liking the soft taste of the coconut contrasting against the garlic.  Not only does it add a soft flavor, but it is also a healthier way of cooking.

There are also hundreds of uses besides cooking that you can use coconut oil for. For Example: Lip Balm, Hair Conditioner, Body Lotion and more.  My second jar sits in my bathroom vanity.   With the high heats here in Michigan, I realize how much my lips require a little more pampering.   So just before bed, I put a very thin layer on them.  I have yet to try it as a hair conditioner, but with the wedding just around the corner, I may just have to do that.

If you are looking for more information on Coconut oil check out  Coconutoil.com. Here you will be able to learn all about
the benefits of using Coconut oil in your daily life.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I’d love to try cooking with this, I’ve used it in the past for hair and lotion. There are so many recipes that I’d like to give a new dimension by trying this, one of these days when it is on sale I want to pick it up!
