For the longest time it was always me shopping just for a son.  And having a boy, I never got to really shop for dolls. But now that I can add my boyfriends Daughter into the equation, I am starting to be able to relive some of my child hood – while doing Holiday Shopping for lil Miss.  Right now She is REALLY into American Girl Dolls – So I Took a look around the American Girl Website!

A little about the American Girl Historical Collection:  Introduced in 1986, the historical characters give girls an engaging glimpse into important times in America’s past. Each character’s story is told in a series of compelling books, focusing on such themes as family, school, holiday, birthday, summer, and winter adventures. Gentle life lessons throughout the stories remind girls of such lasting values as the importance of family and friends, compassion, responsibility, and forgiveness. Each book concludes with a nonfiction picture essay, “A Peek into the Past,” that further explores the character’s historical period.  (American Girl Website)

With Christmas around the corner, I have been asking Lil C and lil Miss what they want for Christmas.   Lil C has NO Clue what he wants, but Lil Miss… She New exactly what she wanted – and American Girl Dolls were right at the top!  She did ask Santa for the American Girl Doll of the Year, but her second Choice was Caroline!  YEA for me because that is just who I received!
A little about Caroline: As the War of 1812 begins, so does the story of Caroline Abbott’s bravery. She loves sailing with her father, but when he’s captured, Caroline must help keep the family’s shipyard running. When she sees a chance to rescue her father, Caroline discovers that she must use her mind and heart to guide her decisions.

I love the Story Behind Caroline!  Especially since I am a Daddy’s girl myself – and So is Lil Miss!  I grew up going everywhere with my dad (well, as long as I was able to ) and even now I work with him.  And I like Caroline would do anything if my dad was in trouble.  And even though Lil Miss only sees her dad on the weekends I can tell that she would do the same for him!   Caroline Stands about 18″ tall. She  is dressed in an era authentic dress – an empire-waist dress.  When she is upright, her eyes are open, but you lay her down to sleep, she closes her eyes.  Lil Miss Loves her American Girl Dolls.  She Takes Extremely good care of them – and she also crafts them furniture and clothes!   As you can see above, Lil Miss is not the Only one who likes Caroline!  We found her relaxing with Tach, while he was chilling on the couch watching TV.  Caroline is now part of the Family – and she patiently waits for  lil Miss to come home to her Daddy’s.

My favorite is Julie…I would love to win this for my 9 year old sister and send it to her for Christmas. I got married 3 years ago, had to move to Colorado from Ohio, because my husband is in the Army, and I don’t get to see my sister, but once a year. I miss her so much, so this would be a great way to tell her that I love her, cause she loves these dolls and has always wanted one. Thank you & Happy Holidays!

I have two boys but my little nieces would really like one of these, I’m sure! They play with other dolls but they might be too young for one of these. Their birthdays aren’t far past Christmas so they might be getting one of these from Uncle Jeff!
