Our last day of #BlogHer12 in New York was Sunday August 5, 2012. This was the day to relax and see a little of NYC. I was super excited – because I honestly have no clue when I am going to be able to visit this great city again. Defintly started off as a lazy day. Didn’t get up and ready to go on our GrayLinesNYC tour until like 1030am! Totally sleeping in for me after the past few days of being there. Took all of our baggage downstairs – and had the front office hold on to it until we got ready to leave for the airport (we had an 8pm flight, so we planned on leaving the hotel around 430pm)
My guy and I walked around the city – trying to decide what we wanted for lunch. I knew I didnt want anything crazy – but I did want something fruity to drink. So not too far from Time Square, we found the corner with a TGIFridays on one side and Applebee’s on the other. TOUGH CHOICE! Did the old flip the coin and went to Fridays for lunch. This was the BEST choice! The food was Delicious!
After a delicious lunch, we found the GrayLinesNYC Tours Visitors Center
I redeemed my voucher and we purchased one for Mr J. We got to experience the UpTown GrayLinesNYC tour. Did you know that on our whole tour (which included Brooklyn, Harlem, Central Park and Time Square) There was only 1 Gas Station?! My guy and I couldn’t believe it, but that Is just because we are use to having on on almost EVER Corner. The Cities that we traveled through are AMAZING.
There were “apartments” that were from the early 1900’s and were still just as beautiful as ever. The Tour Guide was Amazing. He cracked little jokes where ever he could. There was so much to take in! If you are ever in New York, I so recommend that you go on the Gray Lines Tours. If we were going to be there another day or two, we would have taken another tour or two. I really wanted to take the boat cruise- that will be on one of our stops this next trip.
From there, walked back from Time square back to the Warwick, where we stayed at. They were super helpful in getting us a cab to talk back to the airport. Ths time, the Cab drive was so much smoother. Thankfully not as many people are on the roads on Sundays as they were on Thursdays!
The flight home from #BlogHer12 was not as smooth as the flight in.
There was a ton of storms over the New York area. Many flights were delayed HOURS or even canceled. I know many other bloggers that had delays … And i prayed for safe travels for each of them. Thankfully our flight arrived with only a 30 minute delay!

Sounds like your last day was wonderful and relaxing. I’m sad I didn’t have a day like that. My mom’s family is from Brooklyn and lived in one of those old apartment buildings. =)

Those “apartment” buildings were gorgeous from the outside. Its awesome, they actually would put the year they were built right on the building. I still can not believe they are just considered “apartments”
