What do these 3 ladies have in common?  We have quite a lot in common.  1) We’re all close friends. 2) We’re all Michigan Bloggers.  3) We are all mothers and 4) We all needed a night out.    Earlier this month we were invited to Stay at the Bavarian Inn. You’ll bet your bottom dollar that we took them up on this offer.  So the 3 of us left our kiddos with our hubbies, and headed to Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth for a much needed Girls Night out.

Upon arrival at the Bavarian Inn

We got to check into our room and were greeted by 2 Queen size beds, a chair, small desk area, dresser and mini fridge.  (Which we took full advantage of after dinner when our meals were larger than our stomachs)  One thing that I did notice about the beds is there was a memo that let you know they had 2 styles of pillows – a softer pillow and a firmer pillow.  This way they could accommodate different sleeping styles. There are 360 European Themed rooms at the Bavarian Inn.  (You can find more about what amenities they offer here)Check in time is 3pm and check out time is 11am.

We had dinner reservations to the Bavarian Inn Restaurant.

Even living in Michigan and being under an hour and half drive, I’ve never had a meal at the Restaurant.  Walking into the restaurant, we were greeted by servers wearing traditional German wear.  Our server was amazing.  He was able to give suggestions on what tasted good, and what we should try food and drink wise.  Each of us chose a different meal, that way we could share with each other.  They offer 2 different styles of meals – a regular meal and then family style meals.  The family style you’re able to get refills on the meats you chose.  All dinners came with 10 sides and 1 dessert.  Thankfully the sides we were served were perfect size for the 3 of us – And we still had left overs.   I would 110% recommend that if you choose to eat dinner at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant, you make sure to come with an appetite.  After dinner, we walked down the strip of stores at Frankemuth.  We had to burn off some of the meal that we just enjoyed.

Girls Evening in at Bavarian Inn

Being children free, we almost didn’t know what to do with ourselves.  That’s when we remembered that the Bavarian Inn had multiple pools.  Our favorite pool though was the Adult only Pool.  It was tucked away in it’s own room with dimmer lights.  Want to know what the best part of it was?  I bet you can’t guess.  Alright, I’ll tell you.  There were no screaming children.  It was quiet.  We were able to just enjoy each others company -and exchange parenting stories with each other.  What a great end to our night.

After check out, we took a jaunt over to the River Place Shops.

This is a small little outdoor shopping area with a ton of cute stores.  A few of our favorite stores were the Jerky Joint, Funky Skunk, Calla Lillies, SugarHigh Bakery, Enchanted Forest and Hello Cats & Dogs.  Even though we were on a kid free girls trip, I picked up a few different things for both the kiddos.  I found a cute mood ring for Peanut (that fit her little fingers perfectly) and I picked up Lil C a couple different flavors of Jerky.  He got to try Roadkill and Kangaroo and a few others.

If you’re looking for a place to have a girls night away from the kiddos, I recommend that you book a room at the Bavarian Inn.

Kangaroo jerky? Interesting. I’ve been to Frankenmuth before but have never stayed overnight, sounds like a fun time!

I thought the roadkill one sounded interesting! I know Lil C loved trying the different styles.

I love a girls getaway. I’ll have to ask my brother about this since he lives in Michigan.

A hotel is ok with me if it’s clean and has a decent bed, because I don’t like to spend a lot of time in the room when I’m traveling. What I do appreciate though is a great restaurant in the hotel after a long day of sightseeing. This sounds like a great one. I’ve eaten family style Bavarian food before and it was memorable…so many new things to try, so much meat and sausage, a big long table and a great presentation. I’d like to try this place.

This place looks pretty nice. The food looks really tasty, too, which always matters to me, lol.
