img_3114Welcome back for Part 2 of the Pokemon Go Type Match Up and Locations! By now you may have come to realize that testing out these Pokemon Type Match Ups really works! Knowing which Pokemon type has an advantage over another can be a great strategy to go up against a Pokemon Gym – especially one with a variety of different Pokemon types in there to defend it. If you are just visiting our site for the first time, or missed the first article of this important Pokemon Go Type Match Up series, please check out Pokemon Go Type Match UP And Locations Part 1. img_3765

Electric Type and Steel Type:

Electric type attacks do double damage against Flying and Water.  Steel type attacks do double damage against Rock, Ice, and Fairy.  Electric and Steel type Pokemon can be found near machines that are powered by electricity, usually the ones exposed to rain.  Normal type attacks never do double damage to anything, but normal type Pokemon can evolve and attain high CP levels quickly.  Examples of Electric, Steel, and Normal type Pokemon include Pikachu, Magnemite, and Rattata.img_3280Fairy Type, Psychic Type, and Poison Type:

Fairy type attacks do double damage against Dragon, Dark, and Fighting.  Psychic type attacks do double damage against Fighting and Poison.  Fairy and Psychic type Pokemon are unpredictable in their locations, making them quite rare.  Poison type attacks do double damage against Grass and Fairy.  Poison type Pokemon can be found anywhere that is near bugs or sewers.  Examples of Fairy, Psychic, and Poison type Pokemon include Mr. Mime, Abra, and Ekans.img_3761

Fighting Type:

Fighting type attacks are the only attacks that do double damage against the Normal type, which makes them useful for taking down Raticate.  Fighting type attacks also do double damage against Rock, Steel, Ice, and Dark.  Fighting type Pokemon can be found near gyms.  Examples of Fighting type Pokemon include Mankey, Machop, and Poliwrath.img_2507

Fire Type and Flying Type:

Fire type attacks do double damage against Bug, Steel, Grass, and Ice.  Fire type Pokemon do not have specific terrain, so they can appear anywhere, fortunately.  Flying type attacks do double damage against Fighting, Bug, and Grass.  Flying types can be found anywhere that is exposed to the sky.  Some examples of Fire and Flying type Pokemon include Charmander, Pidgey, and Butterfree.  This would also include many other Pokemon examples including the evolutions such as Charmeleon and Charizard, Pidgeotto and Pidgeot, Metapod and Butterfree.

Now that you know all the Type Match Ups for the first 151 Pokemon, you’ll be better prepared to stand up against the toughest Trainers at your local Pokemon Gyms. Keep in mind having a high CP Pokemon is still important, but you can still win against a stronger CP Trainer’s Pokemon if you have the right Pokemon Type Match Up to defeat it with. This gives you a huge advantage and may surprise you just how well it really works! Time To Get Battling!
