Summer is the best time of the year. Not only is it warm and sunny out, but it makes it so much easier for all our friends and family. It’s a time to relax and let loose – but not too loose. Prairie sent us a bottle of their Cucumber Vodka and their Gin to help us enjoy the summer evenings.
Typically I’m not a Gin Drinker, so I was not really sure what it was suppose to taste like, or what to mix it with. So I took a trip to my moms house for the evening to give it a little taste test. After a little taste tests, I was told that the Certified Organic Prairie Gin was one of the smoothest Gins that she had tasted!
For those who have never tried Gin before, you may notice an “evergreen” taste. That is because it is” An enjoyable herbal blend made with time and care. With a hint of juniper and a delicate finish, this is gin that’s light, refreshing and everything you want from organic.” (Prairie Spirits)
The next one that we tried was the Organic Cucumber Vodka. Typically I’m a vodka gal – so I was super excited to try this. At first whiff it smelled AMAZING! Such a fresh cucumber smell. This made me try to figure out what I could mix it with to make an amazing drink for our next get together with friends.
I chose to do a variation on the traditional Jello Shots. Because of the Vodka having such a Strong flavor presence (and because we are wanting to have fun, but not get “wasted”) I cut the recipe for the Vodka in half.
