*Please drink responsibly! Do not drink if you are under 21 years old*
I will admit it right here. I do enjoy an adult (alcoholic) beverage every now and then. My drink of choice is Vodka. I have been drawn to it since I have been 21. It is great as a mixer or just a shot. So when LEAF Vodka let me know that they were going to be included in my Holiday Gift Guide, I got excited. Getting to taste test a “new” Vodka? Its not one that I’ve ever seen on shelves – and I think I have tasted almost every brand that I can find in my local store.
A little from the Leaf Website: Each location imparts a unique spirit to the water, a taste of the place from which it came. There’s something in the water of an Alaskan glacier that gives our vodka a pure, smooth taste. There’s something in the water high in the Rocky Mountains that gives our vodka an unusual richness and complexity. There’s something that makes our vodkas stand apart. That difference is the water.
Everyone always told me the more expensive the Vodka, the smoother and better it was. I didn’t believe them. Hey, at 21, it was all about what was affordable… Now at the age of 33, I know a little better. The higher end the Vodka, the smoother it is. Leaf Vodka sent me their two “flavors”. First is the Green Label bottle which is made from Alaskan Glacial Water. Then there is the blue bottle which is made from Rocky Mountain Mineral Water. Currently I have the Alaskan Glacial Water bottle open.

You can find some other amazing Leaf Vodka Recipes on the Leaf Vodka Website. One that I am looking forward to trying in the summer is the Bitter Re-Leaf:
INGREDIENTS
2 oz LEAF Vodka made from Rocky Mountain Mineral Water
1 Lime Wedge
5 Basil Leaves
Tonic
DIRECTIONS
Place a few basil leaves at the bottom of a rocks glass, and then fill with ice. Add vodka and fill the remainder of the glass with tonic. Garnish with a basil leaf and lime.
