A couple years back I got the opportunity to test Drive a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport (You can read that review here). I enjoyed the car I named Pug (because of the flatter front end that the Outlander has.) So when I was asked if I wanted to try the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, I couldn’t wait to see how they have changed over the past couple years!
The Mitsubishi Outlander seats 5 comfortably – with room for two in the front and 3 across the back seat. Most the time it was just Peanut and I driving around, but all 3 kids did fit across the back seat. Being a mama again of an infant, I have realized the importance of how the car seats fit in the car. For those mamas with more than one in a car seat, there is plenty of room for 2 car seats. Depending on the brand/Style carseat you have, you could put 3 across the back row!
The Outlander Sport has plenty of room in the “trunk”. This is one thing that we look for in a vehicle. With being a family of 5 that likes to travel (well, at least go up north), trying to make sure that all our “luggage” will fit in the trunk is a Must! Visible on the interior side panel of the “trunk” is a Rockford Fosgate Sub woofer. Even I knew that Name! I loved the Sporty visibility of the subwoofer. The Outlander has the CVT transmission. I will say that over the past 3 years, the quality of the CVT has drastically improved. The first time I drove a CVT, I constantly felt like the car was dragging behind. But that is no longer the case. It drove and shifted perfectly. It actually felt no different then my traditional Automatic Transmission. To get a rough idea of the size of the Outlander. I parked it right next to my Dodge Caravan. You can see it is basically the same size. But I did notice that I felt like I was sitting lower- like I would when I was driving a car vs a van or truck. The Outlander Sport is said to get 24 mph City and 30 mph Highway.
*I drove the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport for 1 week in exchange for this feature. All thoughts and opinions expressed are 100% my own.
