Last August, hubby and I took a Honeymoon in Florida.  We started in Fort Lauderdale and traveled up to the Orlando / Kissimmee area.  I was so excited when we got to Kissimmee, because I knew that Disney was located there.  But unfortunately with the short vacation we had in Florida, we weren’t able to stop.  But by the end of the trip, I KNEW that I wanted to try to get down to Florida this next summer and take both the Kids to Disney World.     Hubby and I started to make plans on what we need to save to make this vacation happen… And then this happens:

Yep, Our trip this summer to Florida had to be canceled before it was even  officially planned.  With a little bundle of joy on the way late spring, We were not wanting to travel that far out of state.  So, It will be put off for another year.    But that didn’t stop us from wanting to Celebrate Disney Style.   The This Mamas Life family was invited to join the #DisneySide parties.  We received a great pack to get our party started.  Disney-slide-7Included in our box was a Purple Suitcase (Peanut now has her very first suitcase! ), Cupcake Liners, Cookie Cutters, Favors for the guests and enough plates, cups and napkins for 8 people.   Now to get the guest list organized and people invited.   With the crazy Michigan Weather and Everyone being sick this winter,  it took us two tries to get the Dates set.  But once it was all set, we had a blast!
Disney-slide-5The night before the party, the kids offered to make cupcakes.   Lil C gathered all the supplies – and even measured out the water and oil for the Cake mix.  Lil Miss was all about cracking the eggs and mixing the batter.  Together they were a great team – and made some Amazing Cupcakes.    We frosted Most of the cupcakes with Chocolate frosting, and the rest of them were frosted with Cream Cheese … We had a plan.  I also took advantage of the peaceful night – and Clean house to set up the decorations for the party.   Because of the oval shape of our table, we used the table cloth as a Table runner.  Then we just placed the cups, napkins and plates on the table for when guests arrive.
Disney-slide-6Earlier today we ended up going to an Early Screening for Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted.  Lil Miss took advantage of the flyer that we received at the beginning of the show to create some extra decor for our party.  She created her own Music Award!  I think it turned out amazing.   Our party was a little smaller then originally planned, but we made the best of it!

Disney-slide-2Remember how I said we frosted most of the Cupcakes with Chocolate – and just a few with white?  Well, we used the color patterns to make our own Micky Mouse heads.   These were a hit with everyone!  Disney-slide-4
While all the kids were playing, watching Classic Disney Movies and eating cupcakes, Us parents talked about our Disney Side.  Even though we are all in our 30s, We still have a love for Disney.  I’ll share a little secret with you guys… When ever a new Disney Movie comes out, I’m more excited to go and see them than Lil C is!  One thing that all of us parents agreed on – We were wanting to visit Disney World in the near future.    Hopefully this next summer We will all be able to show our #DisneySide as a family in Florida!Disney-slide-1

This is such a great idea! I grew up not to far from Disney and it is still one of my favorite places. Unfortunately, it has gotten so expensive, we can’t visit nearly as much as we would like. What a great alternative!

Those Cupcakes looks amazing! I love this idea for a party theme. My son is currently into Mickey Mouse and Thomas the Train, so we have to decide now which theme to go with now.
