Being a mommy and a wife, I have noticed that I am constantly worried about my family and others.  Very rarely do I do something to pamper myself.  But every now and then, us mommies need to do something for ourselves.   I’ve Partnered with Spa Week and Olympia Spa and Salon to bring you some great ways to pamper yourselves.

A little about SpaWeek: Spa Week is a bi-annual, nationwide event focused on the personal health and wellness of consumers. Every April and October, hundreds of spa and wellness locations across North America discount two to three full-service spa treatments to just $50 each, offering affordable access to the spa and wellness lifestyle.spaweek 1

SpaWeek runs from October 14 -20, 2013.  I was invited to visit the Olympia Spa and Salon to test out one of these spa features.   Right now the Olympia Spa and Salon will be offering 3 Great specials for $50.00 during Spa Week.

  • 75 Min Spa Package Including 30 Min Massage and Mt. Clemens Famous Mineral Waters Bath
  • 60 Min Healthy and Detoxifying Body Wrap with Relaxing Aromatherapy
  • 90 Min Spa Pedicure Package with Warm Paraffin and Your Choice of a Rich Fall Nail Polish

SpaWeek
I chose to go with the 75 minute Spa Package – 30 Minute Massage and a 45 Mineral Water Bath.   Upon arrival I was greeted with smiling faces.  It is recommended that you arrive about 15 minutes before you appointment, that way you can fill out the required paper work. After filling out the double sided paper, the front desk attendant assisted me to the Massage room.  The bath was already drawn, and they even placed a glass of ice water on a side table for you.   At first I didn’t think I could handle a 45 minute bath, but.. I will have to tell you… It Was AMAZING!  Next to the glass of water there was a small container with reading material.  There was one book that caught my attention – it was a Postcard History of the Mount Clemens Bath Era. Growing up Just outside of Mt. Clemens, I knew that the city was know for their bath houses, but I didn’t know how predominate and important they were to our history.   The next thing I knew, my Massage Therapist knocked on the door to let me know that the 45 minutes was up.
spa week 3This is when I met Carol.  I have only had one other Massage before, and the Massage therapist there was very to her self, to a point where it was almost awkward.  But not Carol.  She was very friendly and professional from the first moment she walked in the door.  Remember how I said I filled out paper work when I first walked in.  Carol used this sheet to plan out her massage.  Since I have been having a lot of Back Pressure/Tension/Ache she focused on my back and shoulders.  She was willing to answer any questions I had and she made sure that I wasn’t in any discomfort with any of the Stretching or massaging that she was doing.  I left there feeling So relaxed and refreshed and ready to curl up and go to bed!

I did ask Carol why they do the baths first.  The last massage I went to, they offered a bath -but they suggested doing it AFTER the massage.  Carol explained that The Mineral Bath not only helps open pores and provides cleansing, but it also relaxes the muscles; Making it easier on the Massage Therapist and the client.

Make sure you visit SpaWeek.com and check out the local spas in your area that are offering Great $50 deals!  If you live in the Mt. Clemens / Clinton Township / Harrison Township / Macomb area, make sure you check out Olympia Spa and Salon.

Man, that sounds like it was amazing! I could totally go for that! It’s so nice when the person working with you is enjoyable. It would be weird to not have a chatty person. lol I’m glad you had such a nice time!
