Kia-Optima-Passenger-Front-Angle-2If you do a lot of driving, then you probably pay attention to how much a tank of gas costs you and how quickly you go through it.  Being a SAHM I also concern myself with that – because I know I’m on a limited budget.  So I have been looking into Hybrid Cars.    I was recently able to take a drive in the  2014 Kia Optima Hybrid Ex.Kia-Optima-Driver-Front-Angle

Kia Optima Hybrid EX Fuel Mileage:Kia-Optima-Engine

One of my biggest concern when I look at a new car is the fuel mileage.  According to the Kia Optima Hybrid Ex Monroney, this car gets approx 37 mpg.  They figure you can get 35 city and 39 highway mileage.  Typically any non-hybrid car I have driven,  I have always had to fill up within a week of driving.  That is just driving to and from work daily and the little light shopping I have to do.  With the Kia Optima Hybrid, I tried so hard to kill a tank of gas.  We even took a few extra trips to visit family and friends in hopes to have to get to a point where we needed to refuel.  But, NOPE!  Couldn’t do it.  This engine is extremely quiet.  There were many times that we second guessed if the car was started or not!  :-O

Kia-Optima-Interior

Typically I’m not one that likes Light colored interior, but I have to admit, this was pretty sleek looking.  I especially loved the dark piping around the seats.  It completely tied in the seats and the the dash together.   I didn’t spend much time siting in the back or passenger seats, just because I was always in the drivers seat, but this car fit my frame Just right!  This model has the Panoramic Sun roof.   I love having a sunroof in my car in general. Just the extra sun light, even during the winter , make me look forward to driving.

Kia Optima Hybrid EX Safety:

Overall, the Kia Optima Hybrid EX Scored very well in the Government 5-Star Safety Ratings.   It scores five out of five in the Frontal Crash Tests – for Driver and Passenger.  It also scores a 5 out of 5 for rollover safety and Side Crash rear seat.  It does only score a 3 out of 5 for the Front seat crash test.

This car sounds and looks amazing! I have been wanting to check out a hybrid to drive to and from work. Looks like a great option! Thanks for sharing!
